Yep. It’s that dreaded time of year. Time to think about bathing suits. So recently I talked about my favorite cover-up, the kaftan/kimono, which actually made me excited to hit the pool. Then I remembered at some point I will have to remove it and get into the pool. That’s not as fun. I’m sure by now you already know there is nothing more flattering than a black bathing suit. They visually help you drop 10 pounds instantly. Yet, you may be thinking, they are so boring. Well not anymore, I was amazed how many black bathing suits I found with details like ruffles, lace, fringe and draping. I am actually quite excited.

I don’t know if it was watching the RHOBH “housewives” going to Dubai or I’m just digging the trend I first noticed for Resort ’16, but I’m finding myself buying kaftans and kimonos left and right to wear this summer. I seriously can not get enough. I’ve bought a few long and short ones. The look is effortless and they come in versions that are draped, flared, belted and billowed for day or night. I know you might be thinking, “seriously? Aren’t kaftans for old ladies?” Not anymore!

No, you don’t have to be a cheerleader or even 16 to partake in this hot trend. Of all the shoe trends for the Spring ’16 season (and there are many) one I am loving is the pom pom embellishment. I was a sucker for a good bow (in the 80’s and more recently), rhinestones (in well the 80’s again and more recently) and now I adore the pom pom. You need to have a bit of a sense of humor to pull this look off.
