Sue Devitt has made up the faces of celebrities like Hilary Swank and Eva Longoria, and Gwyneth Paltrow and Nicole Kidman are fans of her products. So is Second City Style, and last Saturday, we sat down with her at Barney’s to find out how to create a glamorous holiday look and the must-haves of the season.
According to Sue, the key to your overall look is preparing your skin and keeping it in good condition. After all, you do wear your skin everyday. "Hydration, hydration, hydration!" she says, especially in the winter. She recommended her Microquatic Luminous Finishing Mist as a way to keep everything fresh and moisturized in the dry winter weather. However, all Sue Devitt products are beneficial — she is known for her skin care and even the line’s color cosmetics have skin care properties.

So what you do once you have the glowing complexion taken care of? Sue likes a classic look that is reminiscent of ‘Old Hollywood’, with a champagne shimmer on the eyelid and a very defined lash line (her lashline definer brush is perfect for that), along with jet black mascara. From there, she says, you can use a pinky blush and do any color lip you want, from nude gloss to classic red. In fact, you can even use the same basic colors to go from day to evening, just amp up the intensity of the shades.
