This U.S.-based competition, which will go live today (!) at macmeover.com, will cater specifically to the brand’s fan base, and was created to find a real-person face for the fall 2011 color collection. It could be you!
Entrants, who must be 18 or over, will be asked to submit a photo or video of themselves using the phrase “MAC me over because…” and completing it with “style, heart and soul,” James Gager, creative director of MAC Cosmetics worldwide, told WWD. “People sometimes have the perception that you can only get crazy, intense makeup from MAC, but we can also give you the most flattering makeup possible. We wanted to showcase the versatility of the brand, and it sounded like fun to have lots of people tell us why they’d like a MAC makeover. We’re hoping we get entries which truly reflect our creed: all races, all ages, all sexes. This contest isn’t about who is the greatest looking — it is about who has the best style.” Amen to that!
And be sure to keep an eye on those social media pages because MAC senior makeup artists are also planning to tweet about the contest and share insights and tips intended to encourage everyone to enter the competition. Entries for the contest will be accepted through Dec. 20 until 11:59 p.m.

Entries will then begin a judging process which will be helmed by Gager. Six winners will be selected and flown to New York City to be photographed for MAC’s fall 2011 campaign, with an image that will be showcased at MAC stores and counters throughout the world.
