We were recently introduced to and have fallen in lust with Slane & Slane jewelry. For good reason. The desire to own sterling silver jewelry that mirrored the same quality and craftsmanship of gold jewelry, led sisters Heath and Landon Slane to create what they could not find in the world of designer jewelry. Born and raised in High Point, North Carolina, the sisters came together in 1995 with the vision of creating sterling silver designer jewelry with the same quality and detail that historically had been dedicated only to gold and platinum. By early 1997 they launched what legions of collectors know as Slane & Slane.
Slane & Slane’s design inspiration is rooted in classic architecture, mythology, a love of animals and spiritual influences. Every beautiful piece tells a story. There are currently twenty collections and various line extensions.

Distinctive finishes in both their sterling silver, eighteen karat gold designs and their new combination of the two, characterize collections which are at once familiar but new.
Here are some of my favorites:
Fenestra II
This collection (pendent and earrings) made its debut in 2004 and features 12 marquise cut stones, each with 55 facets in London blue or white topaz (pictured). The Roman numeral II on the back of each piece indicates the second in a limited series.
The Bee Collection
Introduced in 1997 this is one Bee Collection you want to have with you at all times! It is the most widely collected of the Slane & Slane designs. Slane & Slane’s Bee is inspired by the Napoleonic symbol of wisdom, strength and nobility. Customers buy the Bee in suites in both sterling silver and 18 karat gold. Diamonds were added to the Bee in 2003.
The Equestrian Collection
A prolific figure in many coats of arms, Slane & Slane’s noble eighteen-karat gold horse is beautifully executed in relief and set in a textured, sterling silver, hexagonal frame. The collection features a small and large pendant, a ring and earrings on a French wire or omega. The collection’s name honors the Roman Goddess of Horses, Epona who was said to be the protectress of horses and foals.
The Column Collection
Like its architectural inspiration, The Column is found in both supporting roles and as a singular design element throughout Slane & Slane’s varied collections. It is easily recognized wherever it appears as a subtle play between raised and etched grooves or beads. Collectors recognize the Column detail as a "texture" that the designers have incorporated primarily on rings and bracelets which are meant to be mixed and matched.
The Eternity Knot Collection
Recognized as one of the eight sacred emblems of Tibetan Buddhism, the geometry of the Eternity Knot forms ten closures and overlaps without beginning or end and is said to signify endless wisdom and compassion. The symmetrical and regular form of the endless knot symbolizes the cyclical nature of rebirth, and the intertwining of lines represents how everything is conjoined and yoked together, leading to a representational form of great simplicity and fully balanced harmony. With diamonds, this is by far my favorite.
