Unlike the more recent (and vile) celeb-launches and massive retailers, CoutureLab takes a different approach: it actually appreciates the unique, season-less and somewhat trend-free goods of designers who often craft items by hand and perhaps even only a few at a time. Mix Modern is coming to Manhattan. Say that 5 times. Seriously, the owner of Mix Modern boutique Evelyn Gorman is moving to NYC and she’s bringing her shop with her, apparently scouting locations as I type. The Houston-based boutique is synonymous with high-end retail in Houston and like the NYC-based Scoop and Intermix, uses a blend of American and European designers to curate each season’s collective spirit.
