What To Wear This Spring? Shop These High Low Basics

In case you were wondering what to wear this spring, you might like to shop these high low basics. This look can become your “uniform” of sorts, which is something I find myself wearing every season. I wound up in a basic wool oversized pea coat almost all winter long, so I know the (once again on-trend) trench coat will be one of my basic go-to pieces this spring.

What to wear this spring: The Trench Coat

If you don’t already own one you can (and should) invest in a Burberry trench. If you believe in the cost per wear method of shopping this is the perfect piece to invest. Or save on this trench coat from J.Crew. I like this mid-length style because it is easier to wear with pants or jeans.

Black and White Stripe Blouse

A crisp white blouse or shirt is more fun with black and white stripes! Wear it the same way you would a solid white blouse, and don’t be afraid to mix it with colorful prints. It’s a modern neutral. This Frame striped pajama blouse is amazing or you can also discover the trend for a lot less at H&M.

High Low Basics: Black Pants

This spring you will want a pair of basic black crop pants to show off spring’s fabulous footwear! You can always use a new pair of back pants and there are a variety of styles I bet you don’t own. Freshen up your look with belted or high waisted pants or try wide or flare legs. These Leur Logette crepe pants have unique ruffle pockets, or you can find a plain version for much less like this pair from Halogen. Just remember to pick a pair that fits and flatters your body type the best.

Spring’s Mules

I’m loving the mules they are showing this spring! Especially ones with a lower kitten heels and in slick black patent. These Tibi Jase mules are a good reason to go high priced, but you can find well-designed mules on the low-priced side, too, like these pointy toe ones by Jeffrey Campbell.

Bright Colored Handbag

Spring is the perfect time to add a new color to your wardrobe, and an easy way to do that is with a new handbag in a bold hue. Bright colors were still going strong on the Fall 2018 runways, so if you get this bright blue Givenchy bag you can carry it through the fall. If that bag is a little out of your price range, then you can get this Faith Mini bag in bright blue from ASOS.

Whether you shop all high, all low or a combination of the two, you can build your spring uniform with just a few (or all of these) fresh spring basics.
