It’s a very common misconception that certain colors are only allowed during certain seasons. Sure, jewel tones look best against a wintry fabric and pastels pop most in summer but the fashion color wheel is available all year round for us to dabble in as we so desire. Many of us would look at orange and immediately think of the falling leaves of, well, fall. But judging from the Spring/Summer 2016 runways, designers are bringing this autumnal color front and center for the spring.
Like every bold hue, orange comes in a full spectrum to experiment and play with. Altuzarra showcased some fresh shades of tangerine from head-to-toe in his Spring 2016 collection. Our favorite item in this look was the perfectly tailored blazer, which we set out to hunt down for ourselves. Rag & Bone was a perfectly “suit”-able option in a similar bold and zesty hue for a fraction of the price.
Spring and summer are all about easy one piece items you can throw on and go. We knew we’d have to include one of these must-have options in our round up, and found the perfect inspiration piece from Altuzarra as well. His dusty orange sundress was just what we were looking for and found a great alternative from none other than activewear label, Athleta. Easy drawstring closure makes this a perfect fashion + function staple with a crazy comfort quotient to boot.

Workwear is still a necessity, even in the warmer months. For decent workwear staples, we turned to Victoria Beckham, queen of understanding the feminine, yet powerful, silhouette. We loved the splash of orange in her Spring 2016 collection but wanted to pull in a more tailored look for a pencil skirt that would score major style points in the office. Her fellow British label, L.K. Bennett offered up a proper alternative in a flattering sunset-inspired shade.
And of course, what would a orange-tinged summer wardrobe be without a flowing tunic? One of the best staples of the season, this easy, breezy piece should be a part of your year round wardrobe. We borrowed the loose silhouette from the blouses Prabal Gurung trotted down his Spring 2016 runway, but found an amazing option (for less than $20!) from our friends at ROMWE.
