CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund runner-up Eddie Borgo got a great concession prize with the opportunity to design a a six-piece, limited-edition accessories collection for J.Crew. Including belts, cuffs and necklaces, the collection resonates with the rocker chic edginess that Borgo has become known for, including chunky metal cuffs, delicate fringed mesh and pearl necklaces and studded hardware punctuating just about everything.
The line is now available in J.Crew stores and online at J.Crew.com. The prices range from $38 for a leather bow pin with gold-plated brass studs to $175 for a fringed mesh pocket necklace. Nothing is over $200 with my favorite piece, the wide cone and pearl cuff, clocking in at $135. The pieces are versatile, seasonless and current which makes for great investment pieces. Borgo himself seems excited by the opportunity to break into a more mainstream market, telling Stylelist, “I think that modern women have a real ability to experiment with fashion, and brands like J.Crew provide the accessibility to try new things.”
