Becca Shumlin and Remy Renzullo – get over yourselves!

Sigh! It seems like just about anyone can get into the Fashion Week these days…or at least anyone willing to do their darndest to try! A story broke yesterday that two high school students from Vermont were suspected of actually hacking into PR company BCPM's exclusive database to get themselves invitations to shows. Gawker reported that Becca Shumlin and Remy Renzullo first emailed a request for entry to the Alexandre Herchocovitch show. But when publicists at BCPM went onto their master invite list, the two kooky kids' names also appeared under like Cushnie et Ochs, Preen, Erin Fetherston, and even a highly coveted spot at Alexander Wang! Gawker's sources said that BCPM was able to track the tinkering back to Vermont, and called Renzullo directly. He admitted that he had in fact hacked into the database and added their names to the list. Whatever reprimanding that has been made, if any, has not been made public. And for accomplice Becca Shumlin, denied entry to the shows may not be fer biggest problem. Shumlin is the daughter of Vermont's State Senate president, who also just happens to be running for governor. Will his little princess's public slip-up potentially cost him the race? It remains to be seen, but hopefully Becca won't get her allowance this month and will be made to think about what she did.
