Summary: "Galliano / Donatella / Dolce & Gabbana / Boring. /Caviar / Escargot / Dom Perignon / Boring." The lyrics to The Pierces’ song Boring was the ideal accompaniment to this year’s BCBG Max Azria Fall 2008 Runway Show. The color palette was non-existent save some random hints of teal and canary yellow, and the bubble mini skirt was not flattering, quite redundant and just too mini. Yet there are some things to be said about the impressive construction for the standard BCBG price tag. The jersey pleating and detailed necklines stood out for great quality—however admittedly it wasn’t quite enough to entice a future purchase.
Color Palette: taupe, cream, gray, nude, tan, navy, plum, brown–hopefully when the line hits the stores the color palette will feature some more colorful versatility
Textures & Details: silk, crepe, jersey pleats, silk organza, linen silk & silk hammered satin, wool twill
Key Looks: tied leather belts with buckle tangling (deja vu from last year’s show), bustier, mini bubble skirts, peter pan collar, leather & snakeskin platforms, heather beige pleated jersey dress, silk jacquard jacket, dark taupe bamboo blouse with cotton wide leg trousers
