YSL's Stefano Pilati after Monday's show in Paris
The rumors are flying around Yves Saint Laurent Rive Gauche…again. According to today's NY Post, Tom Ford's replacement, Stefano Pilati, could soon be getting the axe. "Paris has been flooded with rumors that Pilati's position is under threat and that headhunters have been actively interviewing potential replacements," reported Godfrey Deeny on Fashion Wire Daily.
Considering Monday's runway show was considered by many to be "triumphant" a source told Page Six, "Apparently the house is tired of his antics, like blowing off reporters, partying too hard and making clothes that no one wants to buy, and they have decided to sack him. The buzz is that the front-runner to replace him is Olivier Theyskens, who somehow keeps failing upwards — he drove Nina Ricci near financial ruin with clothes that photograph dramatically but no one can actually wear." YSL is refuting the rumors, but we all know where there's somke, there's fire.
