Thursday, September 4, 2014: Our first show of New York Fashion Week was Mathieu Mirano. We loved the sophisticated and architectural styling, bright color gradations, and laser cut leather!
Jay Godfrey‘s presentation at The Hub at Hudson was a rockin’ good time complete with live musicians! He offered rocker girl chic looks that you can mix and match.

Designer Jay Godfrey with Second City Style Editor Carmen Turner. We told him he looked to young to love the Rolling Stones (which was blaring) and he said, “Young? I’m 34!” Well, like we said…
VPL‘s collection was uniquely presented on trapeze artists and contortionists!
Lauren saw the beautiful Tadashi Shoji collection at the Salon at Lincoln Center.
Getting her nails polished always makes Lauren happy. Especially when she finds a new favorite color by Zoya at the Caravan Lounge at Century 21.
Since it was about a bazillion degrees, a braided updo was in order.
We learned Joan Rivers died while at Century 21. Lauren cried. This is our photo from a year ago at NYFW and we will truly miss her.
Time to relax at the Old Navy + Joe Zee New York Fashion Week bash.
Mr. Joe Zee at the Old Navy + Joe Zee NYFW Party
Katie Holmes got a temporary tattoo right next to us. OK, she actually cut Carol in line, but Carol didn’t know who it was so the guards obviously figured out she was harmless. And clueless.
Carmen went to the Target X Altuzarra press launch party.
The NARS 20th Anniversary party. Every supermodel (young and perfectly preserved) was there. It was a bit surreal.
Carol ran back to get this snap of Linda Evangelista outside the NARS party. She was going in as we were going out! It was a long first day!
