Summary: Joy Cioci took us to the seaside with a presentation of water reflections and sun – literally – on sand. Her models looked comfortable as they moved about and frolicked in the sand to roaring 20s tunes and modern rock and roll music. There was a lot practical mixed in what was unseeingly impractical for the beach – yes, yes, it was all so dreamy I had to keep in mind this is a fashion presentation, and not meant to tell us to wear a beaded gown to the beach. This was a wonderful way to present the fun of spring and summer Dressing. There was sporty beachwear made of fantastic Reef and Water prints in neoprene in every shape from leggings, detachable sleeve trench coats, blazers, and swimsuits to dresses. Then there were some lovely boarder print and amazing lace day dresses, as well as a highly embellished sequin cocktail tank dress and a long silk chiffon embroidered beaded gown. The lace and beaded “bathing caps” were innovative, as well as the unusual ruffles, lace, embellishments and details on each piece. This sunny scene was so uplifting that I left with a fond memory of sand and water, and a beautiful Spring/Summer collection.
