Earlier this month, we reported the Marchesa founder and designer was collaborating with JCPenny. The collection is called Pearl by Georgina Chapman and includes gowns, party dresses, and prom dresses. (High school flashbacks, anyone?) The collaboration hits stores today and pictures from the lookbook are available as well. The line will range mostly from $50 to $250, a price range Chapman is obviously not used to. She does a good job of translating her design aesthetic to a lower price point. Bows, lace, tulle, and peplums are all used in her designs for the 78 piece collection. Only 41 pieces will be available starting today, then every month 15 new pieces will be added. This collaboration is part of an ongoing effort to freshen up JCPenny’s image. Will this selection of gowns help save the financially troubled department store? Time will certainly tell!
