Marc Jacobs has now picked her to create a joint collection named Marc Jacobs + Maripol, The line, which already arrived at the Marc by Marc Jacobs boutique in New York this week, includes 13 jewelry pieces and five T-shirt designs. The collection prices ranges from $4 to $35.
The Jacobs brand had its eye on Maripol for quite some time. “Marc and I have known Maripol forever,” said Robert Duffy, president of Marc Jacobs International, recalling how, in 1985, she designed jewelry for one of Jacobs’ shows. Due to their history, Maripol is just as excited for the collection. “I like the fact that he dares to be different,” she said. “He always changes and lives his dream of design.”
Maripol is scheduled to make an appearance at the freestanding Jacobs boutique this Saturday in New York to sign books and shirts. The collection will also be available at the Chicago Collection store, which opens on February 25.
