Looks For Less: The Nostalgic Nineties

For better or for worse, the 90’s decade is trending again in the fashion world. While I’m sure we could all take a pass on accessories like acid wash jeans, cheap tattoo chokers and jelly bracelets and sandals, some looks are worth reincorporating into your current ensembles. This time around, brands are doing a great job of making this trend feel fresh and updating pieces to not feel so “grungy.” Here are some of my favorite 90s pieces to wear without looking like you’re an extra in Clueless or a Nirvana music video.

A denim jacket can be dressed up or down and will balance out a girly outfit and keep it from looking too sweet. This one from BDG looks upscale and can be worn year round. A high-neck midi dress is perfect for summer and looks chic, and this one is the perfect length. An oversized sweatshirt come in handy on at night when it gets chilly. I’m also a fan of the choker, even though it’s seen on way too many women these days. This pick from BaubleBar is unique and upscale looking because of its sequins and crystals. For beauty, a berry lip is definitely worth reworking into your makeup routine for a vampy, supermodel vibe. This color called Scarlet Empress from NARS is semi-matte and looks perfect with a black top and jeans for a casual night out with friends. Shop these pieces below (for only $28 to $69) or get inspired for your next shopping trip. Most of all enjoy the Nineties nostalgia!
