Yes, there is a national holiday for everything! And yes, National Watermelon Day seems a tad ridiculous, but it would be more insane if it were in December. But seriously, except for my older son, who doesn’t love a really good piece of juicy, sweet watermelon?
Watermelon Eats, Treats & Libations
I personally lover watermelon because it’s a sweet treat that is not only pretty but is comprised of 90% water which makes it healthy. Kids should not be the only ones who love it either. I add chunks of it with fresh mint in my filtered water during the summer. I also puree watermelon to make juice which goes particularity well with some vodka too or for the kids you can freeze it into molds and make popsicles. I also make a lovely watermelon salad with fresh mint, a little crumbled feta and some balsamic vinegar.
Wearing a pattern watermelon is a little more tricky if you are over the age of 10. However, I did find these items that will make remind you of this national day more than just August 3rd. Either way, have a very happy #nationalwatermelonday!
