Guccifabulousness: Gucci Launches Line of Eco-Friendly Shoes

First it was biodegradable sunglasses and now Gucci has launched a line of environmentally friendly shoes. According to WWD, the two styles (one for women and one for men), were designed by Gucci creative director Frida Giannini. Called ‘Sustainable Soles’ both styles are made with biodegradable plastic.
The women’s ballerina style ,called ‘Marola Green’, and features cutout details and the famed GGs. They are available in a range of polished tones, including blush, taupe and black. The men’s sneakers named ‘California Green’ come in both a low- and high-top version, and feature bio-rubber soles, a vegetable-tanned calfskin upper portion and bio shoelaces. The sneakers also have tongues featuring the Gucci logo printed in green on a recycled polyester label. How Ecofabulous.
