Fuga Centro Salon, Spa and Boutique. A Brand New Downtown Escape Overlooking Millennium Park

Regan and Katerina at Fuga Centro
Fuga Centro, a bright, beautiful, white marble floored salon, spa and boutique overlooking Millennium Park at 8 S. Michigan just opened! Last week I visited the salon where I was warmly greeted as soon as I walked through the door by Regan and Katerina. Renowned stylist Antonio Favaro, who came to the U.S. ten years ago from Modena, Italy opened his first Chicago salon, Fuga located at 3853 N. Southport 10 years ago. Just last month he opened his second salon, Fuga Centro which means ‘downtown escape’ in Italian. “We like to think of ourselves as a really high quality salon and spa without the attitude,” Favaro has said. Based on my personal experience at Fuga Centro, I think he really summed it up!

First their head aesthetician, Katerina, gave me a little tour of the space. She made me feel comfortable and was very enthusiastic about their new location. Katerina specialize in brows, so I had to get her expert advice. She did a superb job shaping and taming my unruly brows only using scissors. Then I tried the Intermezzo Facial, a 30-minute facial “for those on the go” for $55. Relaxed in one of their spanking clean facial rooms, she gently exfoliated and brightened my skin using Comfort Zone products from Italy. She proceeded to give me a gentle face, shoulder and arm massage and a little aromatherapy. It was a wonderful experience!

Antonio Favaro and his team, (including wife Kristen) brought a piece of Italy to Chicago. They partnered with Lavazza to offer one of Italy’s most popular coffee brands and with famed Italian designer Roberto Pesce to sell his custom-made Italian clothing. There is a little boutique right in the salon, including both women’s and men’s apparel, shoes and accessories. What a perfect secret shopping destination since they carry some beautifully made Italian lines that you probably won’t find anywhere else in Chicago. A separate VIP Tailor Shop is located on the second floor of the salon and spa where Pesce designs and creates custom-made orders.  The spa uses 100 percent Italian products in the salon including the Davines hair care line and are one of only a few salons in Chicago that carries the Comfort Zone line. Fuga Centro is Italian luxury all the way.
