It’s time to start looking ahead to the fall season, but not so fast! We’ve still got plenty of summer left (thankfully) and there are also plenty of great deals to be found this time of year.
Since I’ve studied the runway trends for fall 2026, I’m going to direct my sale shopping toward pieces I know I can wear now and again later this fall. And I thought you may be interested, too!
5 Fall Trends To Wear Now And Later
Some of these fall 2026 trends aren’t exactly new, which means you may already have some of these pieces in your closet. But if you don’t, this is a great time to shop for them. Here are five of my favorite fall trends that are currently on sale and will transition easily from summer into fall.

1. The Leather Bomber
The bomber jacket reigned supreme on the fall 2026 runways, with versions shown by designers including Isabel Marant, Ulla Johnson, Gabriela Hearst, Louis Vuitton, Hermès, Coach and Chanel.
Style It Now and Later
This versatile shape can be worn with everything from shorts to skirts while the weather is still warm. Later, layer it over a turtleneck sweater and wool trousers for fall and beyond.

2. Romantic Styling
Romantic looks and boho style were big last spring (think Chloé) and are trending again for fall 2026 at Dior, Simone Rocha and Fendi, to name a few.

4. Athletic Styling
Sporty looks are here to stay and were shown on the fall runways at Simone Rocha, Stella McCartney and Dries Van Noten. Nothing says athletic styling quite like a pair of striped track pants, and this green pair from adidas is now on sale.

Wear them now with a tank top or T-shirt and sandals. Come fall, top them with a fisherman sweater and suede sneakers for a more layered look.

5. The Little Black Bag
Who doesn’t love a small black shoulder bag? Think Sex and the City-era Fendi baguette-style bags and what I used to refer to as a “bar purse” that was essential. Small black shoulder bags were shown at Fendi, Gucci, Chanel, Michael Kors and Prada.
