Fall '12 Trend: Flipping For The Fluted Skirt

The fluted or trumpet skirt can be traced back to the 1920’s and updated versions can be traced back to the Fall ’12 runways. The skirt was seen at the Etro and DKNY shows. What’s a fluted skirt you ask? It’s basically a skirt that’s fitted or drop-wasted on top and flips out or flares at the hem and can be of varying lengths. We have absolutely ‘flipped’ for this modern and playful style as it takes the pencil skirt to a new level. Look for solids, prints or mixed mediums like wool with leather trim.
