The master dreamers of DreamDry, Rachel Zoe and Robin Moraetes were in Chicago on Wednesday to celebrate the launch of their new hair styling salon at 904 W. Armitage. I had the pleasure of meeting the two co-founders prior to the party.
I asked them why they opened here in Chicago. Rachel said they are going to open in every large city, and she knows Chicago has women with busy lives who deserve a time for luxury and glamor. (A side note: The gold jewelry Rachel Zoe was wearing made my jaw drop! I died.) Did they realize Chicago needed this service with our humidity in summer and static in winter? “Yes -the static!” Robin exclaimed. “We’ll be sending extra cases of hairspray to Chicago!” added Rachel.
And where did the name DreamDry come from? “The name came to me … in the middle of the night and I called Robin.” Rachel said. “I live in both a fantasy world and the real world, and my dreams are very strong. DreamDry will last – and we can’t get sick of the name!” The name perfectly conjures up the notion of relaxation and fantasy.
DreamDry offers blowouts and styling services available in your choice of Hollywood inspired styles and has a VIP room for private parties. Jewelry and accessories are sold as well. Right now the duo has the perfect plan, but I asked if they’re considering adding on any other services in the near future. Rachel deferred to Robin, who is CEO of DreamDry as well as a business and branding expert. “Maybe.” Robin said smiling, “but I won’t give any particulars!”
Services include The Blowout, $40; Blow & Braid $50, Express Styling (no water) $30 or a Dream(DIY) custom style from $50 – $80. DreamDry offers Glamour Packs that never expire for convenience and to save you money!
