Glenn Close has made headlines as the fierce and fiery litigator on the FX drama Damages. And now she could be inspiring couture collections as well. WWD reports that Lanvin head designer Alber Elbaz has been taking cues from Close's power suits on the drama to form his next capsule collection. Lanvin's pre-spring 2010 capsule line is currently in the works and Elbaz is creating the theme surrounding a "luxury supermarket." In producing the women's wear, with a nod to Close's look, Elbaz has arranged for the pieces to be manufactured at the same Italian factories that create Lanvin's men's wear and will therefore provide the same flawless tailoring in feminine silhouettes. Elbaz also plans to mulitply the number of capsule collections he will debut for next season which is planned to include jersey separates, long dresses, bridal gowns and dip-dyed cotton sportswear, along with evening silhouettes in denim in collaboration with Swedish denim company Acne.
