Fashion Designer Ashley Zygmunt recently re-launched her online clothing boutique ZAMRIE. As a Chicago native, she prides her company on producing locally while distributing globally. She is committed to designing both upgraded basics that will last a lifetime, as well as unique and unmatched statement pieces. Ashley thinks it is important to offer classic styles that will defy trends and remain in your closet for years to come.
Now ZAMRIE is offering a Try & Buy program! It solves the number one issue women have with online shopping – the ability to try the clothing on before purchasing. With the Try & Buy program you have 10 days to evaluate the size, fit, color and design of each item – free of charge.
I personally tried out the Try & Buy Program. I followed ZAMRIE’s guideline for sizing and luckily everything fit me perfectly. The pieces are well constructed and designed to flatter. What I appreciate most about the program is you can order a few sizes if you are uncertain about the fit. Show your friends and family and get second opinions, too. The only trouble may be that you will like so many pieces, you’ll have trouble sending any back!
I love all of the pieces I ordered so ZAMRIE is allowing Second City Style to give away one piece to one lucky reader. Choose from the the Baseball Tee, Pam Pleat Tee, or the Ashley Tee Dress based on availability of sizes and colors. Sign up below! This giveaway expires at 6:00 pm EST on Thursday July 24, 2014. We will then pick and notify the winner by email.**Giveaway available to U.S. residents only and 18 years of age and over.

I asked Ashley Zygmunt a few questions about her collection.
SCS: How would you describe the ZAMRIE woman, in only 3 – 5 words?
AZ: Classic, timeless, fashion-aware, and easy.
SCS: You were in New York for a while. Do you think women in Chicago are the same as New Yorkers?
AZ: It has been a while since I lived there but I do visit multiple times a year for work. I would say there are similarities and differences. New Yorkers are a bit more on-the-go than we are in Chicago, so they do enjoy easy pieces just like we do but they are also a bit more trend driven than Chicagoans, who appreciate closet staples.
SCS: How do you decide what colors to use for your pieces?
AZ: I attend trend shows in NYC and gain inspiration from those shows and the fabrics out there. Between the fabric and trend shows, I think about what colors I’ve used in the past and then try to create a palette which works together but can also be easy for women to understand and want to wear. My novelty fabrics really dictate the solid colors I choose.
SCS: Is is difficult to limit the designs you offer?
AZ: Always! I am constantly coming up with ideas and my famous way of putting this down is on post-its, which then become final sketches. I will start with fabric then design 70+ styles, then add fabric and go through all of them again to make sure they all mix and match, are versatile and fit the feeling of the collection.
SCS: Are any of your pieces staples that you will always offer?
AZ: As of right now, we do not but that will soon be changing! Stay tuned…
