As a child, what little girl at one point didn’t dream of being a princess, especially Cinderella. Evil step-sisters aside, who wouldn’t want the fairy god-mother, fancy ball, Prince Charming and let’s not forget those amazing glass slippers. Now with the help of Christian Louboutin, you can still keep that little piece of your childhood alive with a more mature twist.
Louboutin, the famed fashion designer, has created a limited edition shoe that is a modern take on the classic Cinderella glass slipper that we all know. Although the shoe is not really a glass slipper, it is see-through and crafted from white lace and Swarovski crystals.
The shoes, fit for any Princess were revealed at party at the Palais Brongniart on Wednesday. Disney reached out to Louboutin to update this classic shoe “in anticipation for the Diamond Edition release of Cinderella on Blu-Ray and DVD in October.”
If you’re dying to get your hands on a pair of these crystal encrusted shoes, you better start calling on your fairly god-mother because they are not for sale and only 20 will be made. However, not all hope is lost. Louboutin will take on the role as Prince Charming as he will be presenting one lucky U.S fan with a free pair of shoes during an Aug. 17 giveaway. The remaining shoes are expected to be given away in other countries.
