Last week the friendly faces of Cynthia Rowley helped us get into the holiday spirit! Nestled into adorable boutique row on Damen Ave., the Wicker Park/Bucktown outpost of designer hosted a pre-holiday party, in conjunction with Skirt PR, with all the trimmings! Champagne corks popped as guests mingled around the snug, warmly-lit space, eyeing the confections of Rowley’s fall 2010 collection. The racks held piece after piece boasting eye-catching details feathers, fringe and lace. Black and gunmetal frocks held court with bright lemon tunics and swingy, fire engine red jackets. And everywhere you looked, patterned tights provided the final touch to every chic ensemble.
As for the accessories, little vignettes of shoes, bags and jewelry were made up on top of the racks, showcasing over-sized ladylike purses with kiss-lock closures and thick-heeled leather pumps. Rowley’s accessory du jour from her fall collection, tassles, dangled festively from all sides. I instantly fell in love with the gorgeous leather Frame Bag, presiding over the party from its glass display case. Store manager Kym Heap and PR representative for Cynthia Rowley, Jenny Noriega, were on hand to answer any questions about the current collection and assist customers as they sipped their champagne and noshed on mini cupcakes.
