Vogue and Men’s Vogue hosted a night of luxury last Thursday at Chicago’s Brasserie Ruhlmann. Luxurious it was – the art deco-inspired space was packed full of the city’s most fashionable as they enjoyed cocktail mixings and tastings provided by Tommy Bahama and Santa Margherita.
Special guest hosts and prominent restaurateurs Miae Lim (Mirai Sushi, Japonais, Brasserie Ruhlmann) and Marc Brooks (Room 21 and Park 52) mingled among the stylish crowd, most of who were decked out in airy summer dresses or designer lightweight suits.

On display was Band of Outsiders’ Fall 08 Collection, presented by several models poised on pedestals that were set elegantly against the dramatic décor of the restaurant. While the fashion presentation featured 1940’s schoolgirl pieces (think blazers, tartan and dapper fall coats) and a color palette of olive, plum and camel, its backdrop was 1920’s glamour: red banquettes, a dramatic gold art relief and sparkling chandeliers.
The Caressa jewelry collection was a popular attraction, as revelers waited in line to enter a drawing for a stunning diamond pendant from the Lady Brooke Collection. Outside on the patio, guests relaxed at café-style tables among lush greenery, while others checked out the cigar bar, where the finest cigars were being rolled by hand.
As the perfectly indulgent night came to a close, it left the inspired guests to look forward to many more evenings en vogue.
