Celebrity Trends. Trendsetters Hit All-Time High at 2010 Screen Actors Guild Awards

Wow! I was quite impressed with the showcase of sultry, yet sophisticated gowns at this weekend's Screen Actors Guild Awards. While we've grown used to seeing your trendsetting celebrity ball gown or glistening jewel on our favorite TV or movie star at the Golden Globes, what impressed we most about this year's SAGs were the trends I've never seen before suddenly sparkling down the red carpet.  Bold colors, off-the shoulder dresses, and trains are the norm, but the following celebrities made an impact on me in the fashion department in a way I never expected.  A sign of beautiful things to come? That would be a resounding YES!

Kate Hudson's Brings Sexy Back!

Sagkatehudson
Kate Hudson and sophisticated sexpot go together like rice and beans, but while low cut gowns in front are totally the norm, the Nine actress made such a statement when she showed over her toned back in a white Emilo Pucci gown.

YES! I LOOK FORWARD TO #GROWINGYOUNGER

Meryl Streep In Bold Print!

Sagmerylstreep
Though she was glamorous as always, I wasn't impressed when Meryl Streep took on a grandmotherly theme at the Golden Globes in all black. Now this is more like it! She steps up her glam with a Balenciaga print gown and the belt gives her a waist!

A New Color For a New Star!

Sagleamichele
Lea Michele is sooo beautiful, but is she a trendsetter too? Second City Style would like to answer with a resounding chorus of yes!! An emerald green Catherine Malandrino number with a plunging front ruffles on the sleeves makes us want to see this lovely lady in all glory in the future.

Tina Fey Looking Good!

Sagtinafey
We haven't been impressed with Tina Fey's fashion sense in the past. That frou-frou Zac Posen dress and bow-tie shoes at this month's Golden Globes did absolutely nothing for her. Welcome back Tina Fey! This purple satin Ferragamo sheath looks absolutely amazing on you!

Sharp Shoulders on The Red Carpet

Sagjennifercarpenter
We know sharp shoulders are the go-to style in Europe and for Ms. Victoria Beckham, but this special lady brings them to the red carpet. Jennifer Carpenter looks so stylish in her short, white Paula Ke frock complete with pointy shoulders.

Drew Barrymore Does It Again!

Sagdrewbarrymore
We thought we'd seen it all with Drew Barrymore's peach Golden Globes gown complete with diamonds encrusted on the waist and the shoulder, but she does it again! We've never seen her look more beautiful with this strapless tiered navy blue Monique Lhuillier gown with embroidered flowers on both skirts.

Julianna Marguiles Proves The Night is Midnight Blue

Sagjuliannamargulies
Velvet is a hard fabric to pull off but the former ER star does it well in this one-strap Narciso Rodriguez gown in a beautiful midnight blue color that completely plays off her dark, wavy tresses.

Yes She Can! Betty White Does Color

Sagbettywhite
We saw Glenn Close, Meryl Streep, and Helen Mirren in black at the Golden Globes so it was quite refreshing to catch an 88-year old Betty White highlighting the night in a light blue gown with lacy sleeves as she accepted a Lifetime Achievement Award. You go golden girl!
