Celebrity Trend Alert 2014: Bring on the Multicolored Multi Print!
This past week, upon seeing Taylor Swift at the Jingle Ball in an eye popping Sachin & Babi number, I couldn’t help but notice that celebs were doing something different in order to make a fashion statement. In 2014, it isn’t only about taking clothes off – it’ s also about putting them on…and adding lots and lots of color.
In fact, we haven’t seen this much multicolor multi print since Andy Warhol!
Whether it’s beaded texture like Sarah Hyland’s Dsquared2 dress, or a matching jacket and skirt like Dianne Agron at a CFDA event, the return of the multicolor multi print gives celebs the chance to make a fashion statement without showing skin. Although in the case of Agron’s midriff or Kim Kardashian‘s cleavage – they do it anyway.
Or sometimes, the celebs like to do it up nice and pretty – like Reese Witherspoon and Jaime King who packed a powerful punch in a dainty way with floral, bows, red and sky high heels at a 2014 CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund event. And sometimes, they have to throw in a little sport and rock (in color) like Gwen Stefani and Nicki Minaj at New York Fashion Week this year.
All of these celebs can take their cue from Elizabeth Banks, who is the queen of print and color in her many Peter Pilotto looks. She wore the designer to the 2014 American Music Awards and yes, it’s at least the second time she’s worn in him the past few years.
She sure loves her colorful prints, bold color, and British designers!!
Guess she’s already had some practice playing Effie Trinket!
