It's been looming for days not but Dior has made it official.
Christian Dior President and CEO Sidney Toledano announced not too long ago that John Galliano has been fired from the company, effective immediately. Toledano stated: “I condemn most firmly the statements made by John Galliano which are a total contradiction with the essential values that have always been defended by the House of Christian Dior.”
Of course, this stems from the incident involving a anti-Semtic rant Galliano made outside of a Paris cafe, which then another couple followed up with incriminating evidence. No word from Galliano about the incident yet though he did attempt a countersuit for defamation of character.
Academy Award winner and current face of Dior Natalie Portman released a statement pretty much condeming Galliano's chances for every working in fashion again:
"I am deeply shocked and disgusted by the video of John Galliano’s comments that surfaced today. In light of this video, and as an individual who is proud to be Jewish, I will not be associated with Mr. Galliano in any way. I hope at the very least, these terrible comments remind us to reflect and act upon combating these still-existing prejudices that are the opposite of all that is beautiful."
YES! I LOOK FORWARD TO #GROWINGYOUNGER
