Beauty Discovery: Shu Uemura Cleansing Oil Shampoo

For some reason yesterday I kept getting compliments on my hair. I have to admit it was extra soft and shiny, but I didn’t realize it would attract so much attention. I didn’t style it any differently than I normally do (which  I hate to admit is pretty much wash and wear since I have young children and a precious few minutes to spend on hair and makeup these days). The only thing I could think of is that I had tried a new shampoo. It was Shu Uemura‘s new Cleansing Oil Shampoo, and I am now a huge fan. One use and I noticed (as did others apparently) this big of a difference in my hair’s luster and texture? Amazing.
Yes, oil based face wash is all the rage right now, so why shouldn’t it be the same for your shampoo?  Iconic make-up artist Mr. Shu Uemura discovered the power of an oil-based cleanser in the 1960’s and created his best-selling facial oil.  To celebrate the brand’s heritage, Shu Uemura Art of Hair has recently introduced the Cleansing Oil Shampoo, an oil-based, highly foaming cleanser.  It helps to draw out impurities and build-up on the scalp while gently cleansing the hair fiber, without stripping it of its natural fibers. The shampoo is paraben-free, silicone-free and is enriched with Onsen Inspired Ferment, known for its purifying virtues, which is captured directly from volcanic springs 2,000 feet below the sea.
I have been using non-foaming shampoo for years now as it is less damaging to my hair color and natural curl. This is the first lathering shampoo I have tried and loved in years. It really doesn’t lather too much and the smell is utterly divine, like a floral bouquet, yet not overwhelming. Shu Uemura’s Cleansing Oil Shampoo will remain in my shower. It should reside in yours too.
