Versace Loves RiRi
Instagrammers were in for a very couture treat this morning when Rihanna (@badgalriri) posted a picture of her new Spring 2014 Versace bag with a personalized note from Donatella Versace herself. According to Vogue, Donatella has strayed away from the more feminine pastels we’ve seen from Versace in the past, and has instead opted for dark colors and punky details for her Spring collection.
Lucky Brand Buyout
The brand known for its’ rugged denim and earth apparel, was recently bought by Fifth and Pacific, an affiliate of Leonard Green and Partners. The announcement was made yesterday, that Lucky Brand was purchased by Fifth and Pacific for $225 million, according to Women’s Wear Daily.
Lululemon’s Newest CEO
Fashionable, athletic brand Lululemon has named former Toms Shoes president as their new CEO. Laurent Potdevin, follows Christine Day after she announced her resignation from the brand last June. Additionally, Dennis Wilson who founded Lululemon in 1998 and is now the chairman announced he would step down by June. He was called out on remarks he made about the yoga pant recall debacle earlier this year. Wilson has said it wasn’t about the fabric being too sheer, but women with fat thighs wearing said pants.
