Unexpected Front Row Fashion: Celebrities Who Surprise Us – Diane Kruger, Dita von Teese, Jennifer Lopez and Elizabeth Hurley

We know there are plenty of celebrities who wear a plethora of high fashion designers, but we also know there are certain celebs who stick to the ones they like best. There’s Renee Zellweger and her affinity for Carolina Herrera. And we all know when Kirsten Dunst or Natalie Portman needs a gown, Rodarte is just around the corner.
We weren’t at all surprised to see Kate Moss in the front row at Mulberry or Stella McCartney as she counts herself a devoted fan of both. Kristen Stewart at Balenciaga was somewhat predictable and not at all unexpected. But what happens when celebs decide to change it up a bit and come to a show where we’d never think to see them?
This is what happened to four celebs who appeared in the front row of four different fashion shows during New York, London, Milan, and Paris fashion weeks. Let’s see where they want and why:
Diane Kruger at Calvin Klein
Diane Kruger swears her devotion for Chanel. When there’s a red carpet event with Diane Kruger taking part, we expect her to be clad in Chanel. She’s worn it to many a Chanel event and of course, she was see in Chanel at the amfAR gala in May 2012 and with boyfriend Joshua Jackson in tow at last season’s Chanel show in Paris. Chanel works for this fashionista, who’s always taking risks with the brand. So then why did she suddenly appear at the Calvin Klein show in New York this season? Inquiring minds want to know! Chanel is all about tweeds and prints and loud colors, but bold designs from Karl Lagerfeld. Calvin Klein is streamlined and simple and minimalist high fashion. Not at all something we’d picture this risk-taker wearing. But she was there this season and she took our breath away in a white midriff baring top and skirt as she sat alongside Amy Adams and Emma Stone, two other surprising showings at the catwalk.
Dita von Teese at Burberry
What do you think of when you hear the name Dita von Teese? We think sexy, sultry, cabarets, corsets, pencil skirts, and just a teeny bit of glamorous goth. So then why was she sitting in the front row of Burberry this season? Burberry is known for trench coats, bold neon colors, and British heritage. Dita von Teese is known for burlesque beauty and bustiers. Is there a comparison here? Not exactly. But all eyes were on Miss Dita when she was in the front row at the Burberry show during London Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2013 and no one was complaining…
Jennifer Lopez at Chanel
Lately, Jennifer Lopez has been wrapped up in bold and beaded Zuhair Murad. In fact, this couture and high fashion designer designed the costumes for her recent world tour. They were dressy, they were embellished, they were sparkly and sweet. They were pure Jennifer Lopez. When she’s not being frilly and demure, she’s flaunting every cure in hip hugging fashion like Versace. While the frilly and sweet vibe is no big surprise, it was rather astonishing to see her turn up in Paris for the Chanel show after a quick jaunt with 25-year old boyfriend Casper Smart, from Lisbon, where she was performing, to Paree. In Paris, she took in Valentino and Chanel, but Chanel was especially surprising because we’re used to seeing JLo bold and sassy and not pretty and princess-y. Then again, it’s CHANEL! What glamour girl wouldn’t live out her fantasies there.
Elizabeth Hurley at Roberto Cavalli
Aside from her stint in Austin Powers, we take Elizabeth Hurley to be a powerful woman who likes to wear color, but one that knows what works for her middle-age physique. And what works for her is solid colors and looks for the ladies that lunch. Oscar de la Renta, come on down.  Form fitting dresses in jewel tones, Hurley adores you. Peplum business suits as seen on Gossip Girl. Right up her alley. But Roberto Cavalli? Apparently so! Hurley was seen in a Cavalli print at his Spring/Summer 2013 fashion show in Milan. And apparently, she’s quite fond of his gold embellishments, leopard prints, and boho chic designs. We’d never dream of it, but it’s true, and we like the results!
