Trend For Spring 2012: Still Channeling Betty Draper


Style influenced by the show Mad Men doesn’t seem to be going anywhere, and I for one could not be happier. Now that the show is back after a too long hiatus attention is once again turning towards conservatism and 60’s style. I just love seeing women and men looking a little more refined and put together. Then again, Don traded in Betty for a newer model…Megan, who is more of a sexpot, Sophia Loren type. No matter, just wear a little more black, paint on your finest cat-eye (which is a hot makeup trend for Spring) and sing your best rendition of ‘Zou Bisou Bisou.’ Designers like Jason Wu, Nina Ricci and Jill Stuart are just some of the designers who embraced this retro style. Look for vintage pieces like pencil skirts, peplums, shift dresses, kick-pleats, high necklines and kitten heels.
