Tracy Reese Visits BHLDN Chicago

Tracy Reese before her pre-fall collection presentation at BHLDN in Chicago
Thursday evening BHLDN, Anthropologie’s bridal store, hosted a shopping event and fashion show with Tracy Reese supporting Literacy Chicago. Tracy Reese’s beautiful collection is available at BHLDN. When I first walk in the doors at BHLDN, I was in awe of all the vintage-inspired items seemingly everywhere. For a quick second I thought I had died and gone to fashion heaven. After looking at all the dresses downstairs, I walked up the elegant white spiral staircase and was immersed into a beautiful room with cases of jewelry, racks of shoes and angel wings hanging from the ceiling. If you are looking for a dress for a special occasion, or planning a wedding this is certainly the place to go.
My favorite floral dress!

The crowd was wowed by this peek-a-boo bright violet dress!
We liked this blue dress with strategic rouching and a tiny black dot print.
Another floral print dress by Tracy Reese
Tracy Reese has a very girly eclectic feel, which was mirrored in her Pre-Fall collection showcased at BHLDN. Some highlights of the show were bright colors, hats and beautiful floral patterns all with a vintage flair. My favorite piece was a gorgeous blue floral dress with three quarter length sleeves that had a figure flattering red belt to tie the blue background and red floral print together. Tracy said the belt made a world of difference and enhanced the silhouette of the dress.

I was lucky enough to catch Tracy Reese for a few minutes and talk about our mutual love, fashion. She is one of my favorite designers so I couldn’t wait to ask her some questions! We talked about her collection and why she loved fashion and got into it as a career. She said her mom always sewed when she was young, and she loved to draw, but her deciding factor was when she went to Parson’s for a summer class. She was so down-to-earth and easy to talk to! It is inspiring to meet someone so successful and yet so humble. –Katie Schmitz Photos: Second City Style
