Bottega Veneta Ryan McGinley
Bottega Veneta Taps Ryan McGinley
Bottega Veneta is solidifying its ties with the art world, partnering with famed American photographer Ryan McGinley for its resort 2015 advertising campaign. The gorgeous images, which were shot at New York’s Botanical Garden, will make their debut in the November issues of fashion magazines. There will also be a behind-the-scenes video of the shoot at bottegaveneta.com next month. “His images have not only energy and movement, but often a slightly surreal, dreamlike quality that I thought would be an intriguing match with this collection,” said Bottega Veneta creative director Tomas Maier.
Stella McCartney Designs for Breast Cancer Awareness
Stella McCartney has designed a bright pink line of lingerie in support of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. A percentage of profits from the collection will benefit the Linda McCartney Centre in Liverpool, England, which is named after Stella’s late mother. Photographers Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott shot Kate Moss wearing a bra from the line. The supermodel also wears a breast cancer pink ribbon in the image, which can be seen on McCartney’s website and social media channels. “There are so many women affected by this terrible disease and even more people affected by the loss of the incredible women in their lives,” said McCartney.
Joanna Coles Joins Seventeen Magazine
Joanna Coles now has an even bigger role at Hearst Magazines. The editor in chief of Cosmopolitan is now also the magazine’s editorial director, and she will work for Seventeen as well. Ann Shoket, the current editor in chief, has stepped down and is pursuing other jobs. A new editor in chief of the mag will be named this month. Coles plans to strengthen the Seventeen brand and said, “I have all sorts of ideas for brand extensions and brand partnerships. This is clearly an audience that lives on its phone. They were born digital, so that’s a big part of it, and so is video.” In the past, Coles has teamed up with Facebook’s chief operating officer Sheryl Sandberg at Cosmo and there is a possibility she will be involved with Seventeen.
