It’s bad enough there is soon to air ANOTHER reality show called ‘The Fashionista Diaries’. Now add it’s on Soapnet and it gives you an idea what network TV and men think of what we do. It’s about to get worse…when show began production in May two of the ‘assistants’ were from the now shuttered Jane magazine. No worries though. As quick as you can say Marc Jacobs, the producers found a replacement. CosmoGIRL! Yes, you read that correctly…ew. Not exactly the magazine I turn to for style and fashion either.
According to Fashion Week Daily, the series captures the "drama" as six assistants try to make it in the competitive fashion, beauty, and publishing industries. The aspiring publicists from Jane magazine, Flirt! Cosmetics, and fashion public relations firm Seventh House PR are chronicled putting together a fashion show and after party for Charlotte Ronson during New York’s Fashion Week.

The two assistants from Jane magazine, will now be reassigned to CosmoGIRL! and will work for editor in chief Susan Schulz. Jane magazine will be featured in the first six episodes of The Fashionista Diaries and the magazine’s closure will be covered on the show. There will be tears. I wonder if they will capture the Jane staff raiding the wardrobe closet within minutes of receiving their pink slips (as reported by PageSix)!
The series is scheduled to premiere on August 1. Set your TiVo (not)! Where the hell is Project Runway?
