The New York Fashion Week Spring 2017 shows have ended and now that it’s all said and done I think the trends are playful and sophisticated (though not terribly unexpected). Jason Wu’s New York Fashion Week Spring 2017 collection played to the real woman. The woman who gets up and rules the office during the day, the family during the evening and takes some time to have fun during her weekend. The collection was inspired by Ugo Rondinone, a Swiss-born mixed media artist who is well-known for Seven Magic Mountains, an installation of seven neon stone totems painted in bright yellows, purples and other colors, constructed from car-size stones located just outside of Las Vegas

New York Fashion Week Spring ’17: Diane von Furstenberg Reimagined Classics

The first Spring/Summer collection since Diane von Furstenberg stepped down as head of her decades old namesake collection is one to be remembered. Jonathan Saunders, the new Chief Creative Officer for the brand, showcases his spin on the fashion icon’s collection, which took the classic silhouette and bias cut of the wrap dress and gave it a bit of an update. Needless to say this style can’t get any more classy and sophisticated, but Saunders managed to re-imagine the well known styles of DVF by presenting then in a new and modernized light perfect for the lady who still admires classic DVF but craves a bit of a modern twist
