Spring is in the air (or in your step), especially now that the days are getting longer. With warm weather on the horizon, spring fashion is right around the corner. One item on my list this season? A new pair of spring sneakers! I’ve been curious to see what designers are showcasing for Spring 2025, so I did some research and found designer sneakers to splurge on or similar versions for a steal.

One thing kind of cracks me up (well, maybe it’s not that funny) about sneaker designs is how often designers are influenced by classic athletic shoes and add a lot of details and embellishments. They then charge a small fortune for the result. Sure, these embellished sneakers are cool, but sometimes I wonder why mess with a good thing (yes, Golden Goose, I’m talking to you) when the originals (like the Stan Smiths you keep ripping off) are already perfect in their simplicity? Plus, the originals are not only functional but can be purchased at a much lower price.

That said, there are amazing designer sneakers out there—like those from Balenciaga, Chloe, and McQueen—that are incredibly creative and worth the investment, if your budget allows. This is rather interesting to me. A designer (well their less expensive line) unabashedly copied another designer. Actually there are a lot of fake Gucci logo-prints our there. Here you can go with the real deal or go with a DKNY copy. Which ones do you think you will wear more?
