I think this post is aptly titled because I am on the fence about fringe – especially if you are over 40. It can look a little dated or as if you are trying too hard, if not done correctly. Here is my thought on fringe…if you can’t splurge on quality then skip it or stick to shoes and bags. Unfortunately I am finding fringe looks cheap if it’s well…cheap. For some reason the luxury designers have nailed it while the mass market retailers have made fringe look particularly tacky (with the exception of Topshop’s Kate Moss collection). Remember, a little fringe goes a long way and that it can add pounds. That’s why I’m sticking to a handbag or sandals. Take a look at some of the better fringe items available right now.
