Jewelry designer Julie Schwanbeck had a bit of bad luck this year. With three herniated discs, two consecutive spinal fusions and months to recuperate, her line has been a bit on hold. But wait no longer. Schwanbeck is ready to introduce to the world her latest designs on her brand new e-commerce website.

Schwanbeck, a trained metalsmith, started creating a buzz back in 2007 with her artisan jewelry collections inspired by the imperfections of nature. The Chicago native used variations of gemstones, hand-hammered metals and raw minerals.

Juleshoops "We hand fabricate each piece in our Chicago studio and wouldn’t have it any other way," Schwanbeck explained while describing her signature style. "I want you to see the deliberate hammer strokes, to understand the expression in hand oxidized and textured metals juxtaposed with a gorgeous glimmering gemstone. Jewelry is incredibly personal and I strive to create modern, unique pieces that become meaningful and personal to the wearer; your signature amulet.”

Being featured in People and Lucky magazine no doubt peaked interest and raised the demand for these precious trinkets. You can find all of Schwanbeck's collection as wells as her newest ventures of giving back to the community through Jules' Little Gems at www.shopjules.com.

I guess she can't be just Chicago's hidden gem anymore.
