‘Tis the season for silver and gold! The holidays are here, which as we know is the best time of year to break out your festive finery and sparkle and shine the whole month through. We handpicked a few of our favorite metallic pieces, ranging from flirty to sophisticated, inspired by the Fall/Winter 2016 runways and shoppable enough for you to be the shining star of your next festive holiday fete!
But first, pants. If you don’t feel like decking yourself out like the boughs of holly, no skirt and heels are required. Designers like Michael Kors got the memo that sometimes women just want to get glitzed out but skip the skirt (check out Lauren’s recent OOTD post for proof). Kors’ chevron-patterned sequined pants had us running to find our own, which we did in a similarly charcoal-hued pair from Rose Gal. And at that price point, we’ll happily buy 5 pairs to last the whole year!
Black and gold was a major color combination to show up on the Fall/Winter 2016 runways. We love the filigree look with a patterned overlay, and could see ourselves sashaying down the aisle of a theater on a cold snowy night in a confection like Rachel Zoe‘s look above. We set out to find a piece a little less boho and a little more theatergoer and found this beautiful fit and flare metallic lace number from White House Black Market.
And for those of you that sway a little more black and a little less gold, fear not — we have plenty of shimmer and shine for you as well! The go-to color for most Chicagoans (and almost all New Yorkers) during the winter got a much needed jolt of sparkle from designers like Tibi in their Fall/Winter 2016 collections. We’re fans of the glossy, almost liquid-like look of the long-sleeved sheath and set out to find one of our own. Topshop served up a suitable frock in metallic black velvet, fitted into a flattering hour glass silhouette we can’t wait to slip into.
And what would a piece on holiday metallics be without silver bells?! This year, we’re all about pleats in our our tinsel, which Suno executed beautifully on their Fall/Winter 2016 runway. We swooned over the midi length, which lends a properness and polish to the shine. For our own, we chose right at the knee, belted and under $100 from our friends at Shoptiques. Wrap yourself up in these silver and gold metallics and you’ll be the perfect holiday package!
