We can only pray. Page Six of The New York Post today reported there is “buzz” that Tom Ford could he returning to Gucci which he previously ran from 1994-2004. Now that head designer Frida Giannini and her partner CEO Patrizio di Marco left, anything is possible. Under Ford, Gucci became hugely profitable and eventually went public. Today Ford runs his own successful eponymous line, so one might think this is just a pipe dream. Other names being circulated to breathe life back in to the fashion house are: Givenchy’s Riccardo Tisci, Saint Laurent’s Hedi Slimane (which incidentally Ford also ran for a brief time) and young designing superstar Joseph Altuzzara. We can’t wait to see how this one shakes out.
