Ever since the very peculiar absence from the Spring runways of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week, more and more rumors are surfacing that Brian Reyes, the Colombian-born designer beloved by celebs like America Ferrera and Rachel Bilson, is shutting down his brand.
Reyes had already decided to discontinue his main line back in the summer, choosing to shift his business focus to private sales instead. But alas, that may not be enough to keep the label afloat since The Daily reported that Reyes' New York studio was empty and locked last week. Reyes' partner Jim Sabey did tell The Daily that "It's actually not true or accurate," but did not elaborate on the brand's current financial situation. Reyes launched his eponymous ready-to-wear collection in 2005 at the age of 24 and quickly became known for his gorgeously feminine sheaths. If the rumors are in fact true, he will be greatly missed from the American fashion scene.
