Project Runway All Stars, Season 2 Episode 5: You've Got Male. Memorable Quotes from Last Night's Episode.

There are only nine designers left on Project Runway All Stars Season 2 and in this episode, both the guys and girls are on top; on the runway that is. After Carolyn Murphy announces an Avant-garde, androgyny challenge, Georgina Chapman stops by to throw the contestants a twist. Designers will design not one, but two androgynous for both a girl and guy model. It’s a double walk off.

After two trips to mood and $300 worth of supplies, designers get to work. Some contestants excel while others are too out of their comfort zone. Uli panics upon hearing the challenge, but eventually turns it around and makes it into the top three. Laura Kathleen, used to making rich flowy dresses, struggled with the challenge and pushed herself into the bottom three with “inexpensive” looking garments. Other designers have fun with the challenge, leading Joshua to sport one of the designers dresses. Guys are wearing heels, Kayne styles his models with white paper eyebrows, and Casanova creates gold leather scorpion cut-outs.

Judges Georgina Chapman, Isaac Mizrahi and Carolyn Murphy, along with guest judges, designers Jason Wu and Robert Rodriquez watch the runway. Joshua throws a fit directed towards Ivory for being cast into the safe zone yet again. Emilio wins the challenge with his highly androgynous stripped vests. Anthony Ryan and Uli are also commended for their rock-star looks. Casanova’s scorpion designs, Laura Kathleen’s confused looks and Kayne’s hounds-tooth suits are thrown into the bottom. With no surprise, Kayne was eliminated. At least he didn’t stick with his original smiley-face shirt idea!
