Petra Nemcova was at Neiman Marcus Michigan Avenue to showcase her Be The Light NY Candle Collection. Each candle sells for $98 and 10% of all proceeds support the Happy Hearts Fund, which builds schools for children in countries affected by natural disasters. The model chatted and took photos with customers and also signed and personalized candles purchased that day. Petra is beautiful inside and out!
Petra was very enthusiastic about this collection of candles, as she should be! I was quite impressed. She took me on a little tour of the various fragrances of these long burning, luxurious candles. I honestly liked one more than the next. I adored the sweeter fragrances, and one actually had a chocolate fragrance. Each of them would make a lovely holiday gift. Petra showed me the beautiful vessels in different colors, each etched with a different map of a location where 10% of the proceeds for the sale of each candle supports a school in that country. When the candles are lit the etched maps glow. Each candle has a story and comes in a gorgeous box with matches and a book including all the stories.
The Czech Holiday Cookie Candle candle is probably my favorite especially this time of year, with the proceeds benefit the overall foundation. Petra showed me the map of her native county along with the holiday star cookies also etched on the vessel. She said these traditional cookies have two sides, which represents the bond of family and love.
