Contradictions are often what actually pulls a look together. Pearls with menswear, ribbons with blue jeans, and rhinestones with hair calf are all opposites that attract. The main focus and inspiration for my outfit today is this statement pearl necklace. These aren’t your June Cleaver pearls! I put together this necklace starting with a 17 inch string of 7-8 mm freshwater pearls from The Pearl Source, (amazing quality for the price) tied with a piece of black grosgrain ribbon (al la Lanvin) and pinned the ribbon with a vintage rhinestone brooch I found at a garage sale. I like the contrast of wearing pearls over this black wool military inspired Miu Miu wool jacket with G-Star Raw Jeans, black suede booties and a black hair calf clutch bag. It’s my kind of day-to-evening look.
