New York Events. Lucky Brand & Elle Denim Fitting Party!

It’s been hard to believe in this month’s sweltering heat, that fall fashion is already around the corner. Before we know it, pants, boots and outerwear will be replacing our swimwear and sundresses. And we have to say, we’re excited! Fall is typically our favorite season for fashion and this year, we’re especially amped up thanks to the denim preview we were treated to, courtesy of Lucky Brand denim and Elle!

Let the denim fitting begin!

Held in the Lucky Brand Showroom in Midtown Manhattan, us lucky guests from the Style Coalition arrived at the Exclusive Denim Fitting Party, carrying our favorite pair of jeans. We were encouraged to bring along a beloved pair as a source of inspiration for picking out a brand new pair for the upcoming season. Our hospitable hosts, the Lucky Brand Design team, were so committed in helping us find a perfect style and fit, they had invited Lucky Brand fit guru, Nico Peyrache. Peyrache and his associate Collette, made themselves available for each guest, holding an individual consultation to help choose the best fit, fabric, and wash to match our body type and personal style. Talk about Christmas in July!

We were encouraged to try on as many styles and washes as we wanted, depending on the type if jean we were looking for. The Sienna Cigarette, a cuffed, slouchy boyfriend jean was by far the most popular style. Paired with a tank, tunic or even sleek button down, Sienna seemed the perfect “about town” shape, from weekend shopping trips to strolling down the beach.

The Charlie Skinnies were sleek little black jeans that were perfect for a night on the town. Paired with an embellished top and killer heels, they were arguably the most glam jeans on the rack, yet could still easily be toned down for daywear. Nico and Collette assured us this was probably the best investment piece since everyone needs a great pair of black jeans these days!

The Sofia Boot, Sofia Skinny and Sofia Straight were our mid-rise options, which resulted in a great everyday jean we could see ourselves living in. We agreed the versatile, traditional wash would match with pretty much everything, and the Boot worked perfectly with both heels and flats. Similar reactions were gleaned from the low-rise options, the Cate Stacked and Cate Booted.

After zipping up, rolling down, flexing, posing and getting endless feedback from both the Lucky Brand Design Team and our fellow Style Coalition colleagues, we were all able settle on a Lucky Brand style we fell in love with, both for it’s style and flattering fit. I ended up with the dark washed Charlie Baby Boot, in petite of course. A long and lean shape that made the best of both my curves and my shorter legs, the low-rise and slim fit were perfect pairings for me. And the Baby Boot opening is just that, a small, baby bootleg opening which will slide gracefully over the boots and booties that I will start living in come fall.
All of us Style Coalition bloggers hung out during the fittings to supply support and feedback.

At the end of the fun fitting frenzy, we could easily see why Lucky Brand is known for being a true ‘denim democracy’, offering a fit for every body type. Thank you again to Nico Pevrache, Collette and the entire Lucky Brand Design team for opening their showroom up and teaching us everything we need to know about denim and the tools to find the most flattering fit.
