I scouted out Neiman Marcus Last Call at Gurnee Mills yesterday and had the opportunity to preview their Big Shoe And Handbag Names You Know And Love Sale that starts today through Sunday, April 24th. It was well worth the road trip from Chicago, and really not that far away.
So what is the difference between this sale and the regular sales at Last Call? Well, a ton of clearance inventory was recently shipped to the stores from all across the country. So that pair of shoes you saw on clearance from fall may just show up in your size – or you may see some shoes and handbags that we never had in our Chicago Neiman Marcus. That means new clearance inventory – just for you! Most of the savings starts at 55%. If you have a Neiman Marcus card you can save an extra 5% and if you open a new account you can save 10% on your first purchase. This may be a good time to open that credit card!

OK, so I had to start with checking out the shoes! Neiman Marcus General Manager Shelly Burton welcomed me to the back room and opened up boxes of shoes in my size for me to try! The inventory was from fall, but there were plenty of sandals and shoes to wear this spring and summer. It was like opening up treasure chests! It was so much fun. Lanvin, YSL, Prada, Marni, Chie Mihara, Miu Miu, Elizabeth and James, Vera Wang, DVF, Pedro Garcia, you name it! They are right – they have "the names you know and love!"
We drooled over shoes like these René Caovilla sandals and Yves Saint Laurent wedge platforms. They have such incredible details!
Here are some shoes that I tried on! I wound up buying the deep green Prada sandals on the left. Prices run from around $100 – $500 or more.
These were my runner ups – and tough contenders, I may add! These were the ones that I let get away.
Next it was on to check out the handbags! You can find beautiful bags from Gucci, Fendi Valentino, Balmain, Marni…
