Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week NY Spring '12. Carlos Miele's "Immersive Landscape"

Summary:  Carlos Miele believes in the beauty of virtual reality and it’s basis in fashion. He believes it so much that his Spring 2012 is based completely on the idea. The fusion of the artificial and natural brings together a collection of an artificial paradise, so to speak. For this, the collection contains many fluid lines, sleek sculptural forms and vibrant digital prints.
Even the music is a part of the experience. “The music expresses a counterpoint between the primitive and contemporary,” explained Miele. “A special remix of 1970s song by Vinicius de Moraes and Toquinho, ‘A Tonga da Mironga do Kabulete’, … translates into poetically, ‘anywhere, faraway’.” The looks of the collection bring a feel of Hamptons-resort glamour without going overboard.
